Superintendent's Message

Dear South Bay Community,

For many years, communities in the South Bay have faced extreme pollution from the Tijuana River. Because the infrastructure made to clean water from raw sewage is not maintained or working properly, the water and air are contaminated. This problem not only harms the environment, but it can cause health problems for residents of south San Diego County. Advocacy groups are working together to raise awareness about this crisis and asking elected officials to fix it: Surfrider Foundation, Un Mar de Colores, and American Rivers

For advocacy to be successful, everyone’s contributions are important! Every voice is valuable because it adds unique perspectives that help create solutions to existing challenges. Sharing your experiences ensures that others consider what is happening in your community when developing impactful solutions. When you share your voice, you help make positive change possible and you look out for the future of your community. In other words, advocacy is impossible without you!

American Rivers has created an easy way to send a message to President Biden or you may email him directly via this link. Thank you for your support of our community and helping to highlight the environmental disaster impacting our families.
